If you’re interested in where to find holiday tree lighting celebrations, there are many options available. In New York, you can find these celebrations at the Civic Center Plaza, the Marine Park Alliance, the Emlen Physick Estate, and more. Each year, the tree lighting event grows in popularity, with more community members participating.

Civic Center Plaza

The Civic Center Plaza Holiday Tree Lighting is a free, family-friendly event. Organizers promise holiday entertainment, musical guests, and free craft making. Visitors can also enjoy a holiday feast, drink specials, and “snow” flurries. Santa Claus will be in attendance as well, so don’t forget to bring the family.

The annual tree lighting ceremony is one of several events held throughout the holiday season in San Francisco. This community celebration was sponsored by the Civic Center Community Benefit District, San Francisco Public Works, Another Planet Entertainment, and the Civic Center Initiative. A short video clip from one of the 2017 events highlights some of the events.

The community is invited to the annual holiday tree lighting celebration, which is produced by CityTV. The celebration brings together thousands of residents, including children and adults, for a festive season celebration. There are photo stations, costumed characters, and carolers, and a community sing-along.

Park Slope

This weekend, the first holiday tree lighting in NYC will be held on Fifth Avenue in Park Slope. The ceremony will include music and activities for the whole family. The event is organized by the Business Improvement District. The tree lighting is free and open to the public. It takes place between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The ceremony includes a photo session with Santa. There will be professional photos for sale, and attendees can also take their own pictures. The event is free and family-friendly, and there will be plenty of food and drink to be had.

Emlen Physick Estate

A family-friendly holiday tree lighting ceremony at the Emlen Physick Estate is a great way to celebrate the holiday season in Cape May County. Visitors can take pictures with Santa, take a self-guided tour of the historic estate, and enjoy holiday tunes and refreshments. The event also includes a reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Non-perishable food items will be collected at the event for the Cape May Community Food Closet.

The Emlen Physick Estate is located at 1048 Washington St., and the event is free. The tree will be lit by Santa at 7 p.m., and a choir will lead carols throughout the tree-lit estate.

Rockefeller Center

The Rockefeller Center holiday tree lighting is a major tradition that begins the week after Thanksgiving. While the tree is usually lit after Thanksgiving, preparation for the event begins earlier in November. Workers erect scaffolding around the tree to facilitate the installation of the 50,000 multi-colored LED lights and crystal star on top. The trees that are used for the event are usually donated to the center. In past years, large cargo planes have been used to transport them to the center.

The main event, known as Christmas in Rockefeller Center, is broadcast live on NBC. The event is open to the public, but seating is limited. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, because spots are not guaranteed. If you are planning on attending the tree lighting ceremony, it’s best to arrive by 4 p.m. Otherwise, you’ll likely be standing in the cold.
